Week of May 11, 2015

Here's what we are learning for the week:

Math:
I can identify examples and non-examples of halves and fourths. 
I can understand a whole can be divided into two equal parts. 
I can understand a whole can be divided into four equal parts.


Reading / Social Studies:
I can learn to synthesize my thinking about what I'm reading.

Writing:

I can write a short poem that contains sensory details. 


Spelling:  
I can spell words with the silent -e pattern -ie & the blend tr.

Bonus Words

When your child practices writing their spelling words at home, please make sure they are using capital letters correctly.  The only word that needs a capital letter is the word I.  All others should be written with lowercase letters without a capital letter added where it doesn't belong.

Science:
I can observe and learn about the life cycle of a fish, frog, and chicken.
