Week of February 16, 2015

Here's what we are learning for the week:

Math:
I can practice telling time to the hour and half hour.  
I can tell the difference between an analog and digital clock. 

Reading / Social Studies:
I can confirm predictions about text by reading the part that tells. 

Writing:
I can write a brief composition about something I already know. 
I can communicate my ideas clearly in my writing. 
I can stay on topic when writing. 

Spelling:  
 I can spell words with -ook and -ump.

Spelling Words:

4. clump
5. jump

10. one

Challenge Words:
1. cookie
2. jumping

Bonus Word:  president

When your child practices writing their spelling words at home, please make sure they are using capital letters correctly.  The only word that needs a capital letter is the word I.  All others should be written with lowercase letters without a capital letter added where it doesn't belong.

Science:
I can analyze and record how organisms depend on other living things to survive.
