Week of October 20, 2014
Math:
I can use the making tens strategy to help compose numbers and solve problems when adding and subtracting.
I can generate and solve problems when given a number sentence.
I can compare numbers using comparative language.
I can skip count by 2's, 5's, and 10's up to 80.
Reading / Social Studies:
I can activate my schema, prior knowledge, to understand text.
I can write out connections to my own experiences and personal ideas on a circle map.
I can create and use a simple map of my classroom.
I can describe the location of myself and objects in the classroom.
Writing:
I can create complete sentences in my writing. I can check my sentences to see if they have a "who" and a "what".
I can use transition words in my writing.
I can write about activities in science.
Spelling:
I can spell saw, first, said, good, have. Test on Friday!
Science:
I can predict and identify changes in materials caused by heating and cooling, such as ice melting, water freezing, and water evaporating.
