What we're learning about this week by our "I Can" statements:
Math: I can apply Math strategies for whole number addition and subtraction to solve problems. We are adding numbers to 10 and subtracting numbers from 10.
Reading: I can learn about Reader's Workshop in First grade. I can read in my independent reading spot. I can select just right books. I can build my reading stamina.
Social Studies: I can identify and explain the purpose for rules at school and in the community.
Writing: I can use resources around the room (word wall and words around the room) to learn to spell. I can make the words I write match what I say.
Spelling: I can spell: can, and, my, you, are. Test on Friday!
Science: I can describe the weather and record weather data in my weather journal.
