Week of September 22, 2014

What we're learning about this week by our "I Can" statements:

Math: I can generate a number that is greater than or less than the given whole number, up to 80.  We are learning to compare numbers with the greater than symbol, less than symbol, or equal sign in a number sentence.

Reading:  I can retell the beginning, middle, and end of a story in sequential order.
I can explain how the character(s) in a story solved the problem with the ending solution.
I can identify the emotions of a character and think about how that made me, the reader, feel.

Social Studies:  I can learn about non-fiction texts.

Writing:  I can label our classroom with environmental print to help with writing.
I can use tools in the classroom to help with my writing.
I can describe myself with a circle map.

Spelling: I can spell: up, see, for, like, are.   Test on Friday!

Science:  I can describe the weather and record weather data in my weather journal.
I can observe and record changes in the appearance of objects in the sky such as clouds, the moon, the stars, and the sun.
